Susanne
Le Boutillier
Susanne Le Boutillier works with leaders of complex change so they get results—without being overwhelmed by competing demands or losing their sense of direction. With over 30 years’ experience in government, health, and community services—including more than 15 years as a senior executive—Susanne brings hard-won insight and practical wisdom to the work of leadership.
She has overseen the commissioning and investment management of more than $800 million in predominantly outsourced service delivery across complex human service portfolios. In the health sector, she played a central role in increasing Queensland’s capacity to accommodate a tripling of medical graduates and led the change and portfolio office to split a $10 billion health organisation with 80,000 employees into 17 separate legal entities.
What sets Susanne apart is her ability to make complex change workable. She brings together lived executive experience and research-informed insight to equip leaders with the mindset, tools, and presence they need to stay effective—even when the path forward is uncertain. Her thinking is grounded in cognitive science, systems leadership, and behavioural research—but always delivered in ways that are human, practical, and immediately usable. Her sessions are known for their grounded wisdom and ability to enable reflection and insight. She creates space for honest dialogue in a respectful, trust-based environment—supporting leaders to expand their leadership thinking, align action, and return to their centre before moving forward with clarity.

Professional Summary
Leadership that holds—when everything shifts
Susanne is the author of Centred: How to Lead with Confidence in Times of Complex Change, and co-creator of Ambiguity Apocalypse®—an immersive, scenario-based simulation that builds capability for navigating uncertainty. It helps teams practise decision-making under pressure, strengthen thinking, and collaborate in unpredictable conditions.
Centred Leadership Programs (for Teams and Groups)
Susanne’s programs are built around the Centring Star™—a practical, values-aligned framework that helps leaders act with intention in rapidly changing conditions. It does not impose an external model but supports leaders to develop self-awareness, resilience, and purposeful action grounded in their own context, strengths and values. The framework develops five core capabilities:
Emotional Agility – working with emotions in the moment to lead with self-awareness and authenticity
Intellectual Flexibility – changing how you think to adapt to complexity and uncertainty
Contextual Wisdom – reading the environment, recognising patterns, and adjusting with foresight
Inter-relational Expertise – building trust, influence, and shared direction with others
Tactical Agility – adjusting strategy with intention when plans collapse or conditions shift.
These five points are tethered by each leader’s values and character strengths—serving as an internal compass through complex change.
Programs can be delivered in person or virtually, and include:
Centred Leadership Intensives – development programs for intact teams navigating change
Skills-based Masterclasses – focused sessions on specific capabilities within the Centring Star™
Ambiguity Apocalypse® Simulation – a facilitated scenario experience for high-stakes environments and team building
Team Development Series – modular programs supporting alignment, shared focus, and team resilience.
All programs are grounded in research, tested in practice, and designed to support leaders in delivering service, legacy, stewardship, and responsibility through complexity—not just performance under pressure.
